Indications
Treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides) for 7 to 8 months. The effectiveness against fleas starts immediately after applying the collar. Protects against the development of flea larvae in the immediate vicinity of the animal for 8 months. Seresto can be used as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (VAD). The product has persistent acaricidal (lethal) efficacy against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor reticulatus) and repellent (anti-feeding) efficacy against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus) for 8 months. It is active against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks. Ticks already present on the cat before treatment may not be killed within 48 hours of collar application and may remain attached and visible. Therefore, it is recommended to remove ticks that are already on the cat at the time of application. The prevention of infestations with new ticks starts within two days after applying the collar. Treatment of biting/sucking lice infestations (Trichodectes canis). Ideally, the collar should be fitted before the start of the flea or tick season.
Contraindications
Do not treat kittens less than 10 weeks old. Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
Side effects
Occasionally, in animals not used to wearing a collar, a slight itching and/or redness may be observed during the first few days after application. Make sure the collar is not too tight. Slight hair loss and mild skin reactions may occur at the application site, which usually resolve within 1 to 2 weeks without the need to remove the collar. In some cases, temporarily removing the collar may be appropriate until the symptoms have resolved. Rare side effects, which usually resolve on their own, include lethargy, vomiting, diarrhoea, excessive salivation and lack of appetite.

One collar per animal to fit around the neck. Cats up to and including 8 kg body weight receive one Seresto collar for cats < 8 kg with a length of 38 cm. For external use only.
